[He actually turns to look at Yusuke's offer, confused...though eventually he shrugs and goes back into glaring the fire into somehow becoming hotter]

[Yusuke gets up to make them both the drinks. He adds a generous amount of cream and marshmallows to his; having unlimited access to food and snacks is still a novelty, when he's used to going hungry all the time, so he still wants to take full advantage of it. He doesn't add any toppings to Kaiba's to be on the safe side, though.]

Here you are. [He returns, handing him the drink.] Would you like to join me?

[He gestures to the couch. Squatting like that all evening would probably be uncomfortable...]

[...Then, quietly goes and sits like a normal person, legs crossed. He gives the hot chocolate a tentative sniff before just wrapping his hands around his cup.]

How can you drink it with all that stuff in it?

[Yusuke moves to sit beside him.] You eat the toppings first, or wait for them to melt. If it's too messy, it's best to use a spoon, as though eating a sundae.

No, I don't. My mother died when I was very young, and the man I once considered as a father is rightfully behind bars. He was the mentor I mentioned before.

When they stole his heart, he confessed everything on national television. My testimony to the authorities was not even necessary for securing a conviction.

Huh... I hadn't heard about it, but I like it. National television, huh... They must have had some impressive dirt to prompt a confession. People like that don't just repent for nothing.

Yes, I suppose they must have. More importantly, they gave courage to all of his victims, so I will always be grateful to them.

That's right. The weak are often vulnerable for no reason more than because there is no one willing to take their side. Knowing that there are such people that are willing to fight injustice... It's an emboldening thought.
