Evening Group Activity -- S'mores, Stories, and Discussions

[The sun is finally down, or at least no longer as heat inducing as it was a few hours ago, which means Josh is out of the cabana.

There's a bonfire going outside the cabana, a safe distance away from the building of course. Josh is already there, sitting on one of the four benches with s'mores materials next to him.

Time to get down to business, so won't you come join?]

[Yusuke soon joins him, taking a seat by the fire. He's never tried s'mores before, but now is as good a time as any, right? That's not immediately on his mind, though, judging by the serious expression on his face.]

Before we indulge ourselves any further, might I ask that we take this moment to discuss voting?

Wasting no time, are you? [Giggles.]

[He grabs one of the skewers he'd found and sticks a marshmallow on it before offering it out for Yusuke. They can probably wait til the others arrive to start roasting them, but there's no harm in setting up.]

[He was pretty sure Elise was coming with him or not too long after him, so he came to join the two at the bonfire. He had no luck catching a fish or two to put over the fire, but marshmallows are just as good! ]

Yo! [Already gonna help himself to a skewer as he joins for a seat, the one next him more than open for our final newcomer who has yet to come. He's gonna wait for everyone too before roasting anything! ] So I heard there's voting going on after all this. I'm not too smart, but I think it's good if we kinda had an idea on what we were all doing, yeah?

As different as it is now, I've been in this game and votes... kind of are a big deal.

[Doesn't mind Oku taking a skewer since he's just been idly setting them up on the seat next to him. No one said they couldn't have multiple s'mores, so he's just setting up a few extras for whoever wants more later.]

[If you need him for anything, you can easily find him hiding out in the group's cabana, munching on some fruit and in general avoiding the heat and the sun.

He's not wearing anything too different from what he normally wears. He doesn't anticipate doing any swimming, you see, but he's wearing swim trunks just in case water gets involved in any way. He's wearing his normal shirt on top of that.]

[ Elise is super observant, you see, commenting as she approaches. ]

It's hot and sunny. I'm not a fan of sweating. So, I suppose that's an astute observation.

[ Elise is building a giant sandcastle.

No, really.

It's big. Right now, it's over half her height and just as wide.

Girl has some skills? She'll accept any contributions if you want to help out. ]

[He asks this nonchalantly, but he can't help but be slightly impressed by how big the sand castle is compared to the girl. How long had she been working on this?]

[ She's glad someone noticed, and this is clear in the way her eyes light up as she glances his way. ]

[Elise will hear a dramatic gasp behind her! Which is... just Yusuke. He's making a frame with his hands and admiring her sandcastle from a distance. She might not be a sculptor, but he still appreciates attempts at craftsmanship when he sees them.]

How masterful! The scale and structure of this sandcastle is very impressive.

[ She smiles brightly as she turns around to greet him! ]

Would you like to help? [ She steps out of the way so he can get closer if he wants. ] I bet you can make it even better.

[ She giggles a little as she thinks of exactly how many failed sand castles it's taken over her lifetime to learn how to make the big ones. ]

[ Wearing a trunk that is adorned with '$' symbols, Okuyasu is taking a break from flying this kite as he chowed down on some a cone of ice cream. You are welcome to startle Okuyasu as he's not paying attention to anyone coming to him as he watched a crab waddle along the sand. ....What a interesting crab.]


B -[Sunset/evening-ish]

[ Sure wish he had a summer kimono to wear, because it so felt like summer.

So the sun is now going down and the sky looks more orange and purple. Okuyasu somehow managed to find sparklers. He's been lighting a few and when that stick goes out... He extends a new stick to you. ]

Hey, there you are! You wanna try one? I'll light it for ya!

Ah! [Yusuke exclaims when he notices what Okuyasu is looking at. He heads over and crouches down in the sand, wanting to get a better look at the crab.]

That shape... Those colours... The way it moves...! Crabs are truly a sight to behold.

[He's so excited...]

[THAT'S... ACTUALLY A LITTLE ENDEARING? BUT THIS HIGHSCHOOL PUNK IS TOO COOL TO SAY THAT SO HE'S KEEPING IT TO HIMSELF. ] OH, uh... Yeah!

It's... very red. And those claws are. uh. huge!

[He picks it up from the sand, just watching it in his hands. ] They taste good, too!

Ooh! What is this?

[ Elise's mouth makes a small 'o' as she looks at the stick she's been handed. She's been watching him light sticks and been endlessly fascinated by this entire process! ]

It's a sparkler! Ya light it and they go off like little fireworks in your hands. It's pretty awesome.

It really makes me think of summer back where I'm from.

Don't point it at yourself. It'll burn ya. And don't point them at anyone so they don't get hurt! ...well. Ok, if you don't like that person, maybe you can jab them with it. [BAD INFLUENCE OKUYASU]

Let me light it up for you! [When Elise puts the stick out, he'll be ready to light it up! ]

[Yusuke burns easily and hates getting too hot, so he's dressed not only in swimming trunks, but a white hoodie he keeps constantly pulled over his head. He's not interested in swimming and would much rather scope out every inch of the beach for something beautiful that catches his eye, be it the trees and plants, a colorful fish in the shallows, an interesting seashell, or even the sunset at the end of the day.

When he's not on the hunt for Art™, Yusuke can be found lounging in the cabana.]

A hood's a good idea. I'd use an umbrella, personally.

Hm? Ah, yes. It's light, and keeps the heat away. [Tugs at his hoodie.]

A parasol can be a chore to carry around, so this is easier.

Day group activity - Sing and bond

[Okuyasu manages to find a karaoke machine in the cabana when he was looking around it.

The screen was there and everything!

So he took it upon himself to gather juice and water for the table and set up the machine!

He is testing a microphone if you're interested in joining him or seeing what the noise was all about! ]

[ She's not sure whether to keep a safe distance or investigate up real close. In the end, she goes with the latter, leaning in to see the microphone. ]
