[Comes up with his arms squeezed around a thrashing shark. At least it's not a massive movie-monster, it's more like the size of a large dog. A really toothy dog. Does supplexing a shark work?]

[Anyway, the spectacle eventually ends, and Ike drags the creature up to shore.]

Besides, we can all share it. For dinner, we can put it up over a fire.

...You'll live, but it'll sting in the water for a while. You'd better take all that off before it stains, too; I don't want to explain to your sullen little friend why you ended up bloody on my watch.

[whirls off dramatically, as one does. and then returns in a few minutes dragging a large cooler behind him]

[he drops a bottled water and a towel into Ike's lap, as well as a pair of swim trunks and some band-aids with dragons on them. in the meantime he gingerly attempts to get the li'l shark into said cooler]

[Turns the bottle and bandages around in his hands, patiently figuring out how to open them. After a bit, he pours water over the bites.]

Contrary to popular belief, I can actually be nice to other people when I feel like it. ...Though really, some fresh water really isn't much to ask for. You should have higher expectations.

...Playing devil's advocate, given that fighting is your livelihood, one assumes that you know what you can handle, and what experiences are going to help you in the future, correct?

Mostly. But I've only been in real battles for a year. I was just training before then. There's things I'm still figuring out.

Some of them. European dragons tend to have larger wings and bodies, and longer limbs. Eastern dragons are longer and thinner, like snakes, and can fly from their own magic. Where I'm from, we tend to lean more towards the European influence, though you can find a mishmash of both. You have different dragons?

I didn't realize there were so many dragon tribes. The ones I know of are black, red, and white dragons. Their country is isolationist, so it's rare to see them, but I've met a few. The Prince was very generous to us when our ship ran aground by their shore, but he couldn't actually allow us in because of the King's decree.

...You met a dragon? In real life?

Yes. Their natural forms are at least twice as tall as me, and very strong... we were lucky to have one fight with us for a short time. In their form that looks like us, they don't have many distinguishing features like Ranulf does, but I hear they have incredibly long lifespans. The Prince was apparently over a hundred years old, but he looked younger and smaller than me, and had dark hair and red eyes.

That's an incredible opportunity, though. Such noble creatures...

I met the spirit of a dragon, once. ...Possibly. It was probably some mass hallucination or some other trick. Even so, it left an impression on me.

Well, there was some of the old chosen one-reincarnation-fated warrior BS, but setting that aside... Dream or no, I just got a sense of power, but with grace and finesse. Intelligence and wisdom. It was...inspiring.
