Remember, sharing is caring!🤝 Additionally, to learn more about your 💑datemates💑, go around the group and answer these questions. You can pass twice, but you do not want to learn what happens to liars.☠️
☕ Topics:
😕 A moment you aren't proud of
😓 Your greatest fear
😰 Something that leaves you cold
😊 Your greatest unimportant triumph
😋 Someone or someplace you admire
😀 Something that gets you hot

I've humoured you so far, but I don't think you understand art, or the mindset of a true artist, at all. I fought hard to help combat greed in the art world; I will never perpetuate it myself. Not when I would become like my Sensei. He robbed the talents of countless children and ruined their lives, all so he could profit from their hard work.
Is that kind of ruthlessness admirable to you?
no subject
...For once, my opinion doesn't matter. It's admirable to enough people that you're going to run into someone or several someones, and they're going to try to screw you over. I'm saying protect yourself so you don't end up like those other kids.

[another beat, then Kaiba huffs out a long, foggy breath and begins stalking for the tree line, shoulders tense]
no subject
...Even if I won't agree with your methods, the concern is appreciated.

[Once Yusuke catches up with him, he's frowning. But he won't pester him if Kaiba doesn't want to talk.]
no subject
...I can understand not wanting to follow in the footsteps of a cruel mentor. It's not a great path, especially when you find yourself unexpectedly straying back towards it.

[He looks around, looking for any of the cameras even out here. They must be up in the trees, he figures.]
Greed is an ugly thing.
no subject
[rather than expand on that, he also flicks his gaze towards whatever recording devices are surely following them, somewhere]
...My lawyers would want me to make it clear that Kaiba Corporation does not exploit children, and in fact has made many inroads towards empowering at-risk populations in Domino City and elsewhere.
no subject
[Because, you know, a teenager is 100% more reliable than the vast majority of adults when it comes to not being a terrible human being.]

...Given my knowledge of my stepfather's...predilections...strengthening the powers of the ombudsman's office was one of the things I focused on after I took charge of the company. It is, at times, important to remember the numbers on those spreadsheets are actual people. Still, it can be difficult to break old habits.
[He looks up, quickly looking over to the trees instead; there seems to be a sledge and some other supplies for wood collection, that's a bonus and excellent distraction]
More importantly, I hope to find something dry enough to burn out here.
no subject
Hmm... If only Haru were here. She's much more skilled with these than I. [Yes, he's talking about the tiny girl with fluffy hair who wears pink and likes flowers. Yusuke puts the axe down and finds a handsaw that seems a lot more wieldy.] Ah, here we are.
If there's nothing dry to be collected from the ground, let's use these to cut the smaller branches. It's a shame to mutilate the beauty of trees, but...
[Yusuke does like not freezing to death.]
no subject
[like kaiba's doing much manual labor with his duelist's hands, but]
Just a branch or two shouldn't hurt the tree too badly. It's not as though we need to fell a whole forest, we shouldn't be stuck out here that long.
[that said, not chopping > chopping, so he starts looking around for anything that doesn't look too too wet]
no subject
[It's broad daylight, this isn't a spooky murder forest where something is going to drag them off if they go it alone. Probably.]
no subject
Alright. ...If something happens, say something, the sound should travel well enough.

[Yusuke heads off, and with a little scavenging, and a little tree mutilation, he manages to gather a substantial pile of mostly dry logs to use. He doesn't, however, return to their designated meeting spot within ten minutes. Or fifteen. Or twenty.
If Kaiba goes to look for him, he'll find Yusuke sitting on the bank of a frozen stream, his log pile beside him as he looks up to admire the frozen waterfall he'd stumbled across. He's even muttering to himself.]
Simply breathtaking...
no subject
--What happened?
no subject
Ah, so you've arrived. Would you care to join me? I have been admiring the sight of this waterfall, suspended in time by winter's icy grasp.
[Translation: this thing is pretty and he likes it.]
no subject
[Kaiba is not really sure what expression he's wearing, definitely incredulous and a little red-faced and hopefully not too relieved but either way he's pretty sure it's gonna get real angry real soon]
no subject
[...Mostly just sitting, though, yeah.]
no subject
...

no subject
[WHERE IS HE GOING, did he see something else interesting? Yusuke jumps to his feet to hurry after him, and...
Promptly turns right back around to scoop up the logs he'd forgotten. Oops.]
no subject
[That said, he stops himself mid-flounce because angry or not, walking aimlessly through snowy woods is probably a Bad Idea. If only any of this looked any different than any other part of this. PS: Trees suck.]
